Halifax is the capital of the province Canadian from Nova Scotia . The city has a population of 390 096 inhabitants, concentrating approximately 40% of the provincial population 1 . Its area is 5 490.90 km ² , and its population density is 65.4 inhabitants / km ². It is an important port city in Canada. The city is also headquarters of a major marine base in the country.
It is known for having a large collection of documents about the disaster of the famous ocean liner RMS Titanic , considering that the city examiners were responsible for the identification and burial of most victims. The Fairview Cemetery , located in the city, has the largest number of buried victims of the disaster.
In 1917 , another disaster happened in the city, a clash between two ships , one loaded with tons of explosives caused a massive explosion that later became known as the Halifax explosion , destroying half of the city and killing nearly two thousand people, this explosion was the highest ever recorded at the time, made by human artifacts, and is still the largest man-made explosion until today, when it is excluded explosions nuclear weapons .Downtown Halifax

WINDSOR, Nova Scotia - Canadian Thanksgiving Sunday was
marked in Nova Scotia with a regatta of giant, floating
half-pumpkins racing with paddle-power and motors for
glory. The 10th Annual Windsor Pumpkin Regatta in the
north-central part of the province drew about 10,000
spectators to Pesaquid Lake to watch 50 contestants vie
for top spot, the Halifax Chronicle-Herald reported Monday.
